As a MedjetAssist Member, if you become hospitalized 150 miles or more from your primary residence, Medjet will arrange medical transportation to a home-country hospital of your choice for inpatient care. This membership is for residents of the U.S., Canada or Mexico, up to age 75, planning international trips less than 90 consecutive days at a time, and unlimited domestic travel. RULES and REGULATIONS

Diamond Memberships
(Age 75-84)

The Diamond Membership offered by Medjet is available to individuals age 75 to 84. Diamond Members are limited to one medical transport per membership year, otherwise enjoy all the same benefits as all other MedjetAssist Members. For this membership, we do require a brief health questionnaire and medical statement form be completed. Please allow 5-7 business days for application to be reviewed. RULES and REGULATIONS

Short-Term Memberships

The MedjetAssist Short-Term Membership is ideal for individuals (up to age 75), and families, planning a cruise, holiday or spring break getaway. Short-Term Members enjoy all the same MedjetAssist benefits as Annual Members, with travel protection provided 24 hours a day during the selected travel period. Available in 8, 15, 21 and 30-day options. Benefits begin at 12:01AM morning of effective date and expire at midnight (CDT) of expiration date, and membership must be activated prior to departure from your Primary Residence - so be sure your whole trip is covered when selecting your dates! Collegiate Memberships

These special Collegiate International memberships are annual, and were developed for students and academic faculty up to age 75, who are attending or teaching at a university or other accredited educational programs outside of their home country for up to 20 weeks at a time. Those planning to study or teach abroad for longer than 20 consecutive weeks will need an Expat180 or Expat365 Membership. RULES and REGULATIONS

Expatriate Memberships

For residents of the US, Canada or Mexico, up to age 75 (or 84 with Diamond application) and traveling for extended periods of time in other countries, we offer two Medjet Expat Memberships: Expat180 (1 year, for up to 180 days uninterrupted time spent outside the member’s Home Country on any one trip), and Expat365 for those who intend to spend up to a year abroad. Motorcycle

Medjet’s Motorcycle Protection can be added to any Medjet Membership (except Diamond). Designed for the motorcycle enthusiast, this upgrade is available for residents of the US, Canada or Mexico, and provides for motorcycle transfer costs of up to $3500. If the Medjet Member is hospitalized 150 miles or more from home and unable to ride his/her motorcycle (or it is not drivable), Medjet will make arrangements for the motorcycle to be transferred to the shop or dealership of the Member’s choice within his/her Home Country.

Domestic-Only Membership

For members up to age 75, residing in and traveling only within the 48 contiguous United States, in the event of an inpatient hospitalization while traveling 150 miles or more from the member’ primary residence, the Domestic Travel Protection Membership provides for hospital of choice medical transport to a home hospital or specialty hospital within the contiguous 48 United States. Frequently Asked Questions

Who decides whether I am transported?

If you call Medjet, our medical department will consult with your local attending physician to determine your stability for transfer. If you meet the criteria for transport and are medically stable, the decision is yours.

How long will my medical transport take if I’m hospitalized internationally?

We make all efforts to get you moved home as quickly as possible, but there are several factors that affect the timing of your transport: whether or not you are stable enough for transport, the pre-admission process at the receiving hospital, where you are located and that country’s protocols for processing the paperwork to clear a transport aircraft and crew to retrieve you, and more. We are experts at what we do, so rest assured we move through the process as quickly as we can.

What is “medical necessity?”

Most travel insurance will not move you from one hospital to another unless it’s deemed “medically necessary”, meaning the facility you are in cannot properly treat your illness or injury. Medjet transports do not depend on “medical necessity”, meaning even if you’re in a perfectly good hospital where you are (anywhere 150 miles or more from home), if you want to be moved to a hospital at home that is YOUR choice.

Can a person I am traveling with fly with me if I am transported?

Yes. If medical transport is completed by commercial airline, the member will be flown on first or business class with a medical escort. Medjet will arrange for one traveling companion to accompany each Member being transported at no additional cost, via economy class on the same flight (dependent upon seat availability). If medical transport is completed by a MedjetAssist-authorized aircraft, one traveling companion may accompany each Member being transported at no additional cost, provided space is available and the Member’s care will not be compromised.
