This Markdown version summarizes the questions and answers published on Medjet's FAQ page. For current membership terms, consult the official Rules and Regulations: https://medjetassist.com/rules-and-regulations.

## What does Medjet do?

Medjet arranges medical transport to a hospital of the member's choice in their home country when an eligible member is hospitalized at least 150 miles from home. Unlike many insurance evacuation benefits, eligible transports are not based on medical necessity. For members under 75, the FAQ describes no pre-existing-condition exclusions, health questions, deductibles, claim forms, or monetary transport limits, subject to membership terms.

## Doesn't my current health or travel insurance cover air-medical transports?

Traditional health or travel insurance often does not include hospital-to-hospital air-medical transport, or may restrict coverage and require substantial out-of-pocket payments. Review your policy with your insurer.

## How do transports work?

Medjet coordinates bedside-to-bedside, hospital-to-hospital transfers. Its medical team consults with the treating physician about the member's condition and stability. After the receiving hospital has a bed and transport is appropriate, the member may travel by medical aircraft or, where suitable, commercial airline with a medical escort. Medjet coordinates and pays eligible transport costs.

## Who decides whether I am transported?

Medjet's medical department consults with the local attending physician about stability for transfer. If the member qualifies and is medically stable, the decision to be transported belongs to the member.

## If I want to be transported from one hospital to another in a medical situation, are all my costs covered?

With a current membership and when the transport criteria are satisfied, Medjet arranges bedside-to-bedside air-medical transfer without additional out-of-pocket transport costs. The member pays the membership fee.

## How many transports am I allowed each year?

Members under 75 are allowed two transports per membership year. If a common accident involves several enrolled family members, each enrolled family member is eligible for one transport in connection with that accident.

## How long will my repatriation take if I'm hospitalized internationally?

Timing varies with circumstances such as permits, visas, and country-specific requirements. Contact Medjet for information relevant to your destination and situation.

## What constitutes a family under family plan membership?

A family membership can include the primary member, their spouse or domestic partner, and up to five dependent children through age 19, or through age 23 if they are full-time students.

## Do you have the resources to transport my entire family if we were all involved in a medical situation and subsequently hospitalized?

Medjet's authorized affiliate network can arrange multiple aircraft when necessary. Some aircraft can carry two critical patients, and several less acute patients may be transported together when appropriate.

## Does Medjet operate or maintain its own aircraft?

No. Medjet is an Indirect Air Carrier that contracts with licensed Part 135 air carriers. Medjet coordinates the transportation and medical services; the flights are operated by licensed direct air carriers.

## What are Medjet's requirements for the aircraft and crew?

Authorized medical aircraft must be twin-engine aircraft with at least two appropriately trained and certified pilots. Medical crews must have training and experience caring for critically ill or injured patients during air transport. Authorized affiliates are reviewed against MedjetAssist standards for insurance and crew training.

## What medical capabilities do the aircraft have?

Authorized affiliate aircraft carry equipment suitable for intensive-care-level transport. They can accommodate a critical patient, a medical team, and, where feasible, a family member.

## How do I call Medjet from abroad?

Use the international dialing prefix for the country you are calling from, followed by the U.S. country code (1) and Medjet's number, 205-595-6626. On many mobile phones, you can dial +1-205-595-6626 directly. The Medjet app also provides international-dialing-capable contact links. See https://medjetassist.com/contacts for contact information.
